After officially registering myself for the Alpe d'Huzes event, that will take place on June 6th, the first weeks are mainly focused on getting prepared. Since I have not exactly been a social media tiger for the last 10 years, I first had to reactivate my connections after they have been under a digital pile of dust. Secondly I had to warn my friends and family that I will be posting messages, which will be a shock for most of them. And finally with a little help from my son, I got the first post online :-)
The next month I will be mainly looking for sponsors and trying to come up with creative actions and activities to help and raise as much money as possible for the fundraiser.
And of course, not to underestimate, I will be starting my training schedule in February in order to peak at the right moment in June. To get an understanding on how fit (or not) I am at this stage without any training, we signed up for a 21km hike event on January 27th, that we see as a our of kick off for the Alpe d'Huzes event training schedule. All in all, there is enough to be excited about!
